Keep in mind that you can only report on the projects that you have access to.

The Midaxo platform is very flexible in terms of reporting: you can report on any data element captured in the deals. This document briefly describes typical reporting and analysis situations and views.

Deal pipeline status:

  • The pipeline view gives you the status of the total deal pipeline with a single glance. Many M&A teams use this view in their team meetings to discuss projects. For more detailed, deal-specific information, simply click a project name.
  • On the cover page view, fields can be created to indicate whether a project is on schedule, on budget, meeting financial expectations, etc. Often times, integration teams run weekly meetings using the cover page to highlight key decicions, current status, or any open issues.
  • These status fields can be made visible on the pipeline view to provide a quick visual summary. The example screenshot below shows the status with traffic lights.
  • Although most teams simply run their meetings with Midaxo, the pipeline view, if necessary, can be exported to Excel.

  • The pipeline view can be filtered by any field or by several fields to identify the specific cases of interest, e.g., month due/completed, phase, status. The screenshot below shows the projects that are located in Finland.

  • In the pipeline data view, all information captured on the cover page can filtered by any criteria and sorted (ascending, descending). For example, you can sort projects to see projects with upcoming deadlines like signing, change of ownership, or integration start.

Status of a single deal:

  • The status of a single deal can be shown multiple ways. First, the location of the project card on the pipeline indicates which phase it is in. In the screenshot below, deal “Upsilon” is in the Signing & Closing phase. A status indicator field (a traffic light, for example) can be used to show if the case is progressing as expected.

The Midaxo Platform shows a detailed view of the execution status of a deal, i.e., which tasks have been completed/milestones met, which tasks have issues, and which ones have not been started. This can be found by navigating to the Progress tab within a project. From here, it is possible to drill down to a status of a single task. Hovering over the bars indicates the number and percentage of tasks completed, delayed, in progress, etc. If you want to find more information about a specific task, simply click on the task name. Below is an illustration of the execution status for “Upsilon”.

  • The Tasks view shows the status for all tasks. The color of the task status is the same color as seen in the Progress and Schedule views. If you wish to analyze the deal by its schedule, simply click on the Schedule tab. Both the Tasks view and Schedule view allows drill-down into subtasks.

  • Team members responsible for tasks can add comments at all levels of the task hierarchy, from a broad work stream to a specific single task. Qualitative explanations often provide a more descriptive sense of the status, e.g., “Delayed by 2 days because of the inspector’s schedules”.
  • In the “My Tasks” view, each team member can track his/her progress on task execution. The team leader can track all team members’ progress in executing tasks, as show below.
